The Bridges at Mint Hill | Planning

The Bridges at Mint Hill brings a distinct retail environment to the Charlotte area. The open-air center is designed to complement the lush setting in which it is situated and provides an engaging experience for visitors. The center will feature retail, dining and entertainment venues. KA provided planning services for the project.

The master plan for the project includes three department store anchors, a bookstore, 14-screen theater, restaurants, and upscale specialty retailers. A series of bridges will arch over the water linking the shopping district with the entertainment village.

The architectural style is clean and contemporary. A neutral color palette sets the stage for an upscale look with splashes of color throughout the landscape and through the environmental graphics. Arcades and trellis structures will provide much needed shade from the hot southern sun as visitors stroll around. Walkways between the parking lot and main street are transformed into ‘rooms’ through the careful attention to detail in the hardscape, lighting and storefront treatments providing an almost residential level of comfort.

A family-friendly park anchors the main street’s north end and includes naturally landscaped paths, an interactive fountain, and a gentle slope.
