In order to expand and renovate the highly successful Beachwood Place Mall, ka developed plans to reconfigure the existing space while creating a refreshed mall entry and outdoor plaza space for patrons to enjoy.

Included in the expansion was the mall’s main entrance between a new Maggiano’s Little Italy retardant and the Saks Fifth Avenue. When the project was completed, 17,000 sf of new retail space had been added. The tenants include premier retailers such as H&M, as well as a new McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood restaurant and its outdoor dining patio.

The 21,275 sf food court was relocated to the upper level where it was designed as an inviting space, featuring a fireplace and comfortable seating area overlooking the new outdoor plaza. Within the food court, there are eight tenants and a seating capacity of 425.

Exterior windows, skylights and clerestory windows flood the food court with natural light. A dynamic kinetic sculpture was commissioned for the project, placed in the new main entry plaza.
