Southridge Mall Renovation | Design & Executive Architect | Interior Architecture
Substantial renovation and expansion of the existing entrances rectifies identity and accessibility deficiencies and gives the mall a fresh look. While each of the four entrances has its distinct scale and architectural characteristics, the cohesiveness of the design concept re-images the entire property and gives the mall a strong, upscale and contemporary presence.
On the interior, KA focused the renovation dollars on cosmetic enhancements where the impact was greatest. New flooring throughout, large-format porcelain tile and carpet tile in select areas, and the replacement of the existing monotonous, outdated, metal picket railings with sleek, glass balustrades gives the mall concourses and courts a modern, upscale feel.
The Food Court was reconfigured to improve circulation and provide a variety of seating options. New finishes, lighting and furniture bring the space to a similar level of sophistication as the rest of the renovation.
The total renovation spanned 130,000 sf of the enclosed mall.
