Westfield San Francisco Center: San Francisco, California

Forest City Development, CA/Westfield Corporation

The owner-developer partnership of Westfield Corporation and Forest City made possible the $460 million redevelopment that turned Westfield San Francisco Centre into one of the nationŐs largest retail, office, and entertainment destinations.

The Emporium Development Store, a cherished, historic landmark, was incorporated into the development and its distinctive architectural features strengthened and restored. Most notably, its famed 102-foot diameter glass and steel dome was raised three stories to where it serves as a skylight and focal point at the intersection of the center's concourses. Visitors to the center may enjoy a dramatic eye-level view of the dome from two rooftop terraces above the center.

Street-level retail along Market Street sits at the base of class "A" office space, creating a "self-contained business hub" that interacts seamlessly with the center's shopping and dining offerings. Bloomingdale's, second in size only to the chain's flagship store in New York City, connects to the center on all five levels and is anchored on top by a 9-story Century Theaters and CineArts theater complex.
