Forest City purchased the Station Square site over a period of years with a vision of redeveloping the land, expanding and enhancing its best features to create a premiere waterfront dining, shopping and entertainment experience. Situated on the banks of the Monongahela River across from downtown Pittsburgh, the 52 acre property connects the Central Business District with the surrounding suburbs via a light rail transit system.

Redevelopment begins at the water's edge with a boardwalk and public marina. The marina makes docking of water taxis, party/tour boats and private vessels possible, and expansive parking and pedestrian walkways link downtown with Heinz Field and PNC Park.
