MBNA: Beachwood, Ohio

MBNA America

ka's long-term relationship with MBNA began with the creation of a master plan for its Midwest headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. The plan detailed total build-out of 1.8 million square feet over nine phases on the property's 50 acres. ka then designed the first 800,000 square feet: five distinctive and inter-connected granite and glass clad buildings.

When Bank of America later purchased the MBNA campus, ka developed schematic plans for converting the single tenant campus into a complex that offers multi-tenant capabilities.

Other amenities on campus include a high-tech conference facility that accommodates 500 people and is equipped with a full service kitchen, a daycare center heated by geo-thermal energy, a cafeteria, and a fitness facility. The campus also includes four multi-level parking structures that hold over 2,700 cars. The campus has recently been purchased by the Cleveland Clinic with Bank of America now occupying building four as a tenant and the Clinic utilizing the facility as their administrative center.
