Lake Nona continues to expand with the additions of Neumors Childrens Hospital, Veterens Affairs Medical Center, and University of Florida Research Center. These facilities join The University of Central Florida's health science campus, including the College of Medicine and Burnett Biomedical Science Building, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Burnham Institute for Medical Research.
Lake Nona Boulevard is constructed in anticipation of further development with the Town Center and Tech Park, which will provide a mixed use of fashion retail, office, restaurant, entertainment, department stores, theaters, and community services. It will also have a future connection of the boulevard to Boggy Creek with direct access to Orlando International Airport.
Beginning with a three day charette to identify Lake Nona/UCP Medical Campus master planning in April of 2006, Lake Nona has made tremendous strides in fulfilling their development vision for land south of SR 417 in the 7,000 acre planned community in southeast Orlando. This community is home to world-class education and recreational amenities.
