The only enclosed regional mall in its area to have an outdoor lifestyle component, Freehold Raceway Mall's goal is to provide visitors a relaxed shopping experience, complete with unique shops and restaurants.
The finished design of the lifestyle component complements the mall's existing architecture with brick and stone accented by decorative glass, steel and metal detailing. This design language is carried out by its wayfinding elements, as well. The new system was developed to illustrate the center's different zones by contrasting to the existing mall's signage program, but complements all portions of the project and maintains consistency throughout.
Signage elements include pedestrian directories that give patrons an easy path to their favorite shopping destinations. First-time and returning shoppers alike appreciate the directories as they navigate through the new portions of the project.
The addition of the lifestyle component came with the opportunity to create unique identity pieces that welcome visitors and announce the new development with grandeur.
