ka provided planning and conceptual design services for the investigation, analysis and feasibility for options for a mixed-use development project including retail, housing, parking, and office. ka reviewed the existing master plan and walked the site and surrounding areas. From information gathered from the investigation and discussions with various CSU personnel, ka defined various adjacencies, paths, nodes, and visual connections of the site. The ownership of the various parcels was identified. Schemes were created for the proposed use of the site, including the surrounding properties not owned by CSU. The schemes gave a visual link between the new Student Center and the Wolstein Center. They also created a triangular "wedge" along Euclid to be used for exterior functions such as a farmer's market and cafe style dining. Massing studies were completed to provide visual continuity of the character and massing of the surrounding infrastructure.
