The five-story 357,000 sf Bloomingdale's is one of its largest stores in the country, second only to its flagship 59th Street/Lexington Avenue store in New York City.
In contrast to the Beaux Arts facade of its historic neighbor, the Emporium Department Store, the look is strictly modern with four stories of glass framed by horizontal metal panels.
The store was part of a 1.5 million square foot project that included the restoration of the Emporium, and is an extension of San Francisco's retail district. The venue serves as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination for approximately 25 million people annually.
