ka architecture and Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation have teamed up, along with The Martin Architectural Group PC of Philadelphia (master plan & residential design architect), to redevelop and design a 2.1 million square foot, mixed-use, town center in Annapolis, Maryland. The new complex, Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, will replace Parole Plaza, which was once the only major retail center in the Annapolis area. Centrally located less than 30 miles from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland, the center is expected to attract crowds from both locations.
Once completed, the 33-acre site will feature a grand boulevard with 600,000 square feet of retail space. Sitting atop ground level retail are 358 residential units with the ability to build 900 units, some offering views of the Chesapeake Bay. The new center will include 120,000 square feet of office space, a hotel, parking garages, and a skating rink. The centre will have a large water feature as well.
Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole will be completed through a five-phase process. Phase I of the retail portion opened in October 2008 followed by the residential portion in Spring 2009.
